Fodens enjoy North East trip

It hasn't just been at The Sage where Foden's have been enjoying themselves it seems.

Fodens

Before they made their winning appearance at Brass in Concert, Foden's recently lead a 'Band in a Day' training course as guests of Trimdon Concert Brass.

Funded

Organised and funded by the Northern Regional Brass Band Trust, the day was headed by Mark Bousie who was ably supported by tutors Mark Wilkinson, Richard Poole, Dave Morton, Lesley Howie and Les Neish.

The team were delighted that Chris Gomersall, Principal Trombone of the Brighouse & Rastrick, was able to join them as guest trombone tutor.

Put through paces

During the day members of Trimdon and players from other bands around the North East, were put through their paces on a wide variety of repertoire ranging from 'Castell Coch' to 'Batman the Movie'.

The whole event was concluded with a very well received concert at Trimdon Station Community Centre which saw the band perform under the batons of Mark Bousie and Mark Wilkinson.

During the day members of Trimdon and players from other bands around the North East, were put through their paces on a wide variety of repertoire4BR

Thrilled

The tutor’s septet also thrilled the audience with two brass ensembles sets and Les Neish gave an astonishing display of tuba virtuosity on Baardsvik's 'Fnugg'.

Long service

Prior to the band’s final item, the Northern Regional Brass Band Trust’s retiring secretary Len Old was thanked for his hard work in setting the day up, and his outstanding long service to banding in the North of England.
