Cory's helping hand

A quartet from the European champions help to encourage a new generation of players in Mid Wales.

Newtown Silver Band in conjunction with the local Theatr Hafren, recently put on a Masterclass/Workshop with four members of the Cory Band, prior to the European champions concert in the twon on the same night.

Worthwhile

44 players of varying ages and abilities attended from six bands within Mid Wales and under the eyes of Owen Farr, Chris Turner, Chris Thomas and Alun Horgan enjoyed a very worthwhile and instructive time.

Final blow

At the end of the enjoyable day everyone joined together for a final 'blow', before claiming their seats for the concert from the Welsh champions later in the night.

Concert

Theatr Hafren was packed for the visit and prior to the concert, the Newtown Silver Band, with some members of Knighton Town Band, under the Musical Director Steve Edwards, performed in the Foyer to a large appreciative audience.
