Llanrug pack 'em in for Christmas

The Llanrug Band recently ended their year by packing an audience in for their Christmas Concert and Awards.

 

The Llanrug Silver Band recently held their Annual Christmas Concert at their village Primary School.

The evening was a great success with the small school hall packed to the rafters with supporters.

Awards

During the evening the presentation of two awards was made.

The 'Terry Lloyd Jones Memorial Trophy', which is awarded annually to the young member who has made the greatest contribution to the band by regular attendance and musical improvement was made to baritone player Dyfrig Owen.

Band Person

Meanwhile, the 'Band Person of the Year' Award, sponsored by MD Paul Hughes was presented to Collette Williams.

The award was given in recognition of the hard work that Collette has undertaken, including her tutoring of the Junior band, her work with the youth band and being principal horn of the Senior band.
