A Yorkshire Christmas

BBC Radio 2 is to broadcast some traditional Christmas fayre all with a Yorkshire flavour on Christmas Eve.

As you wait for the big day to arrive, you can finish off all those last minute preparations with some traditional Christmas music on BBC Radio 2 on Christmas Eve.

Brass and Voices

'Brass and Voices' was a solely Yorkshire affair featuring Black Dyke, The Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus, singer Joe Stilgoe and poet, Ian McMillan and it took place in Sheffield's City Hall on 12th December.

The hour long programme will include Gordon Langford's 'Christmas Fantasy' and a new arrangment by Darius Battiwalla of 'O Holy Night'. Joe Stilgoe will perform some of his own arrangements including 'Christmas Morning' whilst host for the evening, Ian McMillan is featured with his '12 Days Of Yorkshire Christmas'.

The programme produced by Terry Carter is aired on BBC Radio 2 on Thursday from 11pm-midnight and thereafter via the BBC iplayer.

April 3 • We have vacancies for a trombone player and a bass player. Cleethorpes Band rehearse near the seafront on Thursday and Sunday evenings. Placed 3rd in the NOE 4th section. Other players are always welcome as we may be able to switch positions around
