Death of Peter Badham

The death has been announced of Hade Edge stalwart Peter Badham.

Hade Edge

The Hade Edge Band has announced the death of their longest serving member, Peter Badham.

Santa

Peter will be better known to many as 'Santa' as he was a very distinctive player with a beard of pure white snow and easily recognised by all.

His health had been failing for some 12 months and he died peacefully in Barnsley General Hospital on Saturday 8th May.

He was a great inspiration to not only the senior band members but also the junior members as he and his wife Heather played an active part in the organisationHade Edge Band

Much loved

Peter played Eb bass for Hade Edge Band for over 30 years and was a much loved and well respected member and chairman for a considerable amount of years. One of his greatest achievements was to be a driving force behind a brand new bandroom being built for the band.

Saddened

Band Chairman Robert Turnbull told 4BR: "All the band members are very saddened by the news over the weekend about Peter. He was a great inspiration to not only the senior band members but also the junior members as he and his wife Heather played an active part in the organisation."

Funeral arrangements

The funeral arrangements will take place on Wednesday 19th May
at 12.45am at Bridsedge Chapel.

Birdsedge is on the A629 between Penistone and Huddersfield. Postcode is HD8. The chapel is situated on Penistone Road.

An internment will take place at Grenoside Crematorium, near Sheffield St 2.00pm.
