Great days at Boarshurst

Boarshurst Silver are on their best run of form for 161 years.

Boarshurst

Over the last three weekends, Boarshurst Silver has played at the Hebden Bridge, Brighouse and Silkstone March & Hymn Contests, and have successfully won prizes for being the best fourth section band at each event.

26 contests

Adding to the list of contests entered over a period of the last 16 months, it means a rejuvenated Boarshurst taken part in no less than 26 contests since April 2009 – and has amazingly won at least one prize at each one.

It is believed that there has never been such an extended period of prize winning success in the band’s proud 161 year history.

Proud

The Bands Musical Director, David W Ashworth is obviously extremely proud of the achievement and commented to 4BR: "We have all worked very hard over the last two and a half years and it has paid off. I have a wonderful group of musicians at Boarshurst, of all levels and they work so very hard for each other."

David added: "I'm made up for them all. It is an absolutely fabulous achievement. I'm so proud to have had the honour of conducting the band at every one."
