Oxford pool race

The multi talents of City of Oxford's sop player Tim Bailey have been shown to good effect of late — from the pub to Blenheim Palace.

It was an exciting weekend recently for City of Oxford Silver Band with them holding their keenly contested annual 8 ball pool competition and take part in a wonderful brass band event at the magnificent Blenheim Palace.

The band’s soprano cornet player and RAF helicopter pilot, Tim Bailey, won the pool contest to show that he had definitely mis-spent his youth, whilst still having time to organise the band’s monthly Sunday lunch.

Meanwhile, the band under the direction of Rob Fleming, thoroughly enjoyed taking part with several other local bands in an event at the beautiful venue of Blenheim Palace, an event arranged by the Oxford and District Brass Band Association.
