New moves at St Austell

Trio of new saints to be found at St Austell in time for Torquay.

St Austell

The St Austell Town Band is putting the final touches to its preparation for the forthcoming SWBBA contest in November, with the help of a trio of new signings.

Cornets and flugel

Sabrina Bampini and Emmeline Downer join the cornet section. Sabrina has returned from a year in Australia to join the solo cornet line-up, and Emmeline Downer has worked her way up through the St Austell School of Brass to gain a place on 2nd cornet with the senior band.

Meanwhile, Yasmin Stevens joins on flugel horn. Yasmin previously played with Mount Charles and St Breward bands. Yasmin completes the new look horn section where Anna Minear has moved from cornet to solo horn, Helen Farmer to 1st horn and Paul Uzzell on 2nd horn.

Further changes

Further changes have also seen the return of Chris Wooding to bass trombone, whilst Ben Minear, previously on bass trombone, has become the new principal EEb Bass player.
