Changes at Gresley

Wesley Kendrick is appointed MD to end period of uncertainty at Gresley Colliery Band.

Gresley

Gresley Colliery Band has announced the appointment of Wesley Kendrick as their new Musical Director.

New MD

Wes started his playing career with The Salvation Army, later studying at Birmingham Conservatoire under Denis Masters and Stephen Daw. He is currently resident arranger at the Staffordshire Band and Musical Director at Amington Band.

End to uncertainty

Band Manager Dave Shipley told 4BR: "This appointment brings an end to a period of uncertainty for Gresley and offers significant security for the future. The band has actively been seeking to change the way in which it operates — including a complete overhaul of the committee process and a far more focused, transparent approach to band management."
