Former Fairey Band flugel horn player Neil Hewson, was one of the first people to offer help and assistance to his former band following their fire.

And in an act of real generosity, Neil recently conducted his own band, Hawk Green, in a fund raising concert at Marple Cricket Club, which helped raise over £600 towards the costs of re-equipping the Fairey (Geneva) Band.

A concert programme consisting of music dedicated to the history and successes of the current English National champion saw many supporters attend and give generously in voluntary entry fees, a raffle and auction
