Gwent Youth contest cancelled

Following the demolition of the main hall at the usual Crosskeys College venue, and with the combined forces of the Greater Gwent Youth Brass Band performing at the prestigious 'Festival of Brass' in Manchester on the last weekend of January, organisers have decided not to hold the 2011 Gwent Youth Brass Band Festival.

However, the Gwent Music Support Service will be organising the event in 2012 on Saturday 28th at Crosskeys College, when the competition will be held at the newly built Sports Hall.

This will give time for the organisers to look at the format of the event and also to seek sponsors to assist in the funding of this very successful FestivalAlun F Williams
