Welsh Carol cancellation

The terrible weather in Wales meant the cancellation of the recent Carols for Cymru.

Cardiff

Due to the extreme Arctic weather conditions that befell South Wales recently, the organisers Making Music Wales and Ty Cerdd were reluctantly forced to take the decision to cancel their ‘Carols For Cymru’ event at the Wales Millennium Centre.

Unavoidable

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Both organisations would like to offer their thanks to all those bands and individuals who signed up to the event but following advice from external agencies, cancellation of the event was unfortunately unavoidable."

However, all has not been lost and meetings will now be held early in the New Year to discuss a possible replacement for the event in the Spring of 20114BR

Replacement

However, all has not been lost and meetings will now be held early in the New Year to discuss a possible replacement for the event in the Spring of 2011.

Meanwhile further information on the activities of both Ty Cerdd and Making Music Wales, including full contact information for both organisations, and details of the support they offer to brass bands across Wales, can be found at their respective websites www.makingmusicwales.org.uk and www.tycerdd.org
