St Austell Awards

The St Austell Band has been handing out their annual awards.

The St Austell Town & Junior bands recently held their annual Christmas Concert, which also saw the presentation of their annual player awards.

Awards

Resident MD, Aaron Harvey, was presented with the Chairman's 'Player of the Year' award for his overall contribution both musically and non musically to the band, whilst the ‘Players Player’ went to trombonist Rob Faro.

The light hearted 'King Moment' Award went to the Percussion section of Hayley Tangye, Zoe Teague and Zena Walker, and 2nd horn player Roger Nicholls was awarded 'Most Agricultural Player'!

2010 also saw the St Austell Junior Band continue to grow as they attended both the Bugle and South West Brass Band Association Contests4BR

Youth success

2010 also saw the St Austell Junior Band continue to grow as they attended both the Bugle and South West Brass Band Association Contests.

Youth awards were presented to Daniel Hall, Carys Brush, Jacob Griffiths, Jack Harvey, whilst the back row cornet section won the special cornet award for their fantastic work at the recent SWBBA contest.

Associated Board exam certificates were also presented to Daniel Hall and Mae Hollebon.

Throughout 2010 St Austell Band Club Members raised £1,500 for the Cornwall Air Ambulance, and at the concert a cheque was presented to a representative from the charity.
