Great year for Tylorstown

2010 was a year to remember and celebrate for Tylorstown.

Tylotstwon

The Tylorstown Band has looked back with particular satisfaction on their 2010 season – the most successful year in it’s history.

Run of form

The run of form started at the Area contest in Swansea as the band, under the direction of MD Gary Davies took the Second Section honours and gained promotion to the First Section for 2011.

With confidence high the band then claimed a podium finish in the Championship Section Welsh League contest at Ebbw Vale, before coming runner up at the televised National Eisteddfod of Wales Competition.

National title

However, it was the claiming of the Second Section National Champion Band of Great Britain title at Harrogate that was the glorious climax of the season as the band took home the title to the Principality thanks to a rousing performance of Philip Wilby’s ‘Psalms and Alleluias’.
