Greater Gwent set course

The Greater Gwent Youth and Intermediate Bands will be setting their course sights on Manchester under Robert Childs after Xmas.

Despite the recent snowfalls in South East Wales, the annual Greater Gwent Youth and Greater Gwent Intermediate Band Course will go ahead just after the young players have enjoyed their Christmas turkey and opened their prezzies.

Annual Concert

The course will take place at Croesyceiliog Comprehensive School from 28th December to Thursday 30th December, as they put the finishing touches to their programme for the annual concert on Monday 3rd January, where they will be joined guest soloist Owen Farr.

This year the Intermediate Band will be conducted by Sean O'Neill, whilst the Youth Band will be led by Dr Robert Childs, as they put the final preparations to their programme for the RNCM Festival of Brass appearance at the end of January.

Former member

Due to Robert Childs conducting the Cornish Youth Band, Flowers MD, and former band member Paul Holland will conduct the Youth Band for the first part of the course, taking the place of Nigel Seaman who is currently in hospital.
