4BR December Quiz winner

There was a fantastic response to our Christmas Quiz this year — and a delighted winner too!

4BR

There was a lovely Christmas surprise for the members of the Market Rasen Band this year, after they found out that they had won the 4BR Christmas Quiz prize of over £250 worth of Paul Lovatt-Cooper music.

Correct answer

Band member Ryan Newland came up with the correct answer of 'Pound the Streets' and sent it to 4BR – along with over 350 other correct answers from readers from all over the banding world.

We had asked, which of Paul’s pieces was commissioned for the National Youth Band of Scotland by the Scottish Brass Band Association for the Tartan Heart Festival in 2010?

We are all great fans of Paul’s music and we will now be looking forward to start including them in our concert and contest programmes in 2011Ryan Newland

Good news

4BR Editor Iwan Fox dipped into the ‘hat’ to pick out the winner and managed to finally contact Ryan on Christmas Day to tell him the good news.

"What a great present for the band," Ryan said. "We are all great fans of Paul’s music and we will now be looking forward to start including them in our concert and contest programmes in 2011."

Prize

The prize includes signed copies of Paul’s 'Wall of Sound'; 'On the Castle Green'; 'Pound the Streets'; 'Jack in the Box'; 'Canzona Bravura'; 'Emerald Skies' and 'Enchanted Kingdom'.

Ryan added: "There is something for everyone to work on and enjoy. Some of the pieces are diffuclt, but we love a challenge, especially when we enjoy Paul’s music as much as we do."
