Derwent Brass has been handing out their annual awards at their recent Annual General Meeting.

Champers

The 2010 'Brass Champagne Moment' went to principal percussion player Grant Ashenden, whilst solo cornet player Chris Leonard won 'Bandsperson of the Year', with runner up, flugel player Pam Davis.

Looking forward

The formal election of officers and committee saw Edward Walford become the new Press and Promotions Officer.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "The band looks forward to a very successful 2011 with its promotion back into the Championship Section, together with a number of high profile engagements."
