4BR has been informed of the death of one of the stalwart brass band supporters in the Netherlands, Jurrien de Koning who has passed at the age of 87 after a short illness.

Well known

Jurrien was a well known for his support of the banding movement in his home country as well as regular visitor to the UK for the National Championships at the Royal Albert Hall.

He also organised many successful trips for visiting bands to the Netherlands.
