Elland Silver Band has been handing out its own version of the Oscars

Elland Silver Senior Band recently held their Annual 'Oscars' award ceremony, where around 60 members, families and friends attended to enjoy a fine evening of celebration.
Band Chairman Peter Greenleaf was on hand to open the 'Gold envelopes' and announce the winners.
Recipients included, 'Most Progress under 18'- 3rd cornet, Gerry Simpson; 'Most Progress over 18' — Repaino, William Spencer; 'Most Promising Newcomer- 2nd Trombone, Janet Wiffin; 'Band Person of the Year' — James Shepherd; 'Player of the Year' — Flugel horn, Janice Davison.
