West Mercia Police Band has welcomed Alwyn Green to its ranks as its new Musical Director.

Well known

Alwyn is the highly respected Bass Trombonist at the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, trombone tutor at Birmingham Conservatoire and University of Birmingham and is a successful composer and arranger of a diverse repertoire of pieces for orchestras, ensembles and brass bands.

Progress

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Alwyn is keen to progress West Mercia in the concert and contest arena. He takes up the baton with immediate effect and is delighted with his new appointment."
