Kirky left with a mountain to climb...

The Kirkintilloch Band has been left with a mountain to climb to get to the British Open...

Kirkintilloch

Next month, some hardy souls of the Kirkintilloch Band will undertake a sponsored climb of Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis to help raise funds for their appearance at the British Open in Birmingham in September.

Lyrically inspired

Their lyrically test piece inspired spokesperson told 4BR: "Some might think us a perfect fool to try this endeavour, and for others it might be a revelation.

With enough energy our heroic march will take us on a journey into freedom from the cityscapes of Scotland, crossing the frontier to walk beneath cloudctacher fells and the high peak, taking a path across the moors, hopefully without too many diversions through the land of the mountain and the flood."

Fortunately they forgot to add that they might be in need of the last rites from a Red Priest by the time they get to Symphony Hall4BR

Overdrive

Still in overdrive pick any test piece mode that fits, they added: "By the time we reach the summit, our wayfarers might need an extreme makeover, but surely it will be a night to sing, with much pageantry and many dances and allelulias. The view of men and mountains from the top will be spectacular."

Red Priest

Fortunately they forgot to add that they might be in need of the last rites from a Red Priest by the time they get to Symphony Hall...
