Nine brave members of the Kirkintilloch Band recently climbed Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK to help raise funds for the band’s forthcoming trip to the British Open Championships in Birmingham.

Snow and rocks

The team that included conductor Allan Ramsay made it to the top in a very respectable five hours even managing to get around the usual obstacles of snow and rocky outcrops on their way.

Funds

The members raised over £3,000, which will be match funded by a donation from Barclays Bank to help with their British Open costs.
