Jamie Smith of Sellers International Youth Band adds yet another accolade to his growing list of impressive achievements.

Sellers International Youth Band is bursting with pride after its very own principal cornet player, Jamie Smith gained the same top seat at the Summer Course of the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain.

Greatest names

The coveted position has been occupied by the greatest names in banding, such as Maurice Murphy and Phillip McCann, and it is the second time that Sellers International Youth Band has produced the principal cornet player.

Talent

This remarkably talented young man is just 16 years of age and was Head Boy at King James High School last year, as well as being the current principal cornet of Yorkshire First Section champions, Hammonds Saltaire.

In addition to being principal cornet at Sellers International Youth Band he is also MD of Mighty Oaks, Sellers Intermediate Band.

Tintwistle Band

June 9 • Tintwistle Band are looking for a 2nd horn player to help complete the team. . We rehearse Monday and Thursday 8-10pm under the baton of our MD Jim Henson, at our own bandroom on Old Road in Tintwistle, and perform a variety of concerts all year round.
