Following the departure of Gavin Lamplough to become Bandmaster of the Birmingham Citadel Band, Cornerstone Brass has announced the appointment of new Musical Director, Damian Wileman.

ISB experience

Damian has just completed six seasons as a member of the International Staff Band and has vast playing experience with a number of bands up and down the country.

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "Damian is currently working with us on preparation for the Butlins Mineworkers Competition. We are thoroughly delighted to have the opportunity to work with him and look forward to him leading Cornerstone forward."

New principals

Along with the appointment the band also welcome the appointments of Principal Cornet Adrian Wileman and Principal Trombone, Kelvin Little.

For Kelvin, the band is a huge commitment, as he will be driving from Ipswich to Sheffield for rehearsals.
