New MD at K&N

Dr Kevin Cameron takes over the reins at K&N Spring Gully Brass.

 

K&N Spring Gully Brass has announced the appointment of Dr Kevin Cameron as their new Musical Director with immediate effect.

Well known

Dr Cameron is well known in musical circles throughout Australia as a conductor, adjudicator and music educator, and currently serves the banding community as President of the South Australian Band Association (SABA) and the National Band Council of Australia (NBCA), as well as conducting the Unley Concert Band.

First award

Initially trained at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Kevin has studied music in London, Perth, the United States, and finally Newcastle, where he was the first recipient of the award of Doctor of Philosophy in Music at the University of Newcastle.

K&N Spring Gully Brass is looking forward to embarking on this new journey, and has no doubt that Dr Cameron’s knowledge, enthusiasm and diverse experience will benefit the teamK&N Spring Gulley

Winner

Kevin was the inaugural winner of the ABC’s Young Conductor of the Year competition, has subsequently held numerous musical posts and has appeared with the Sydney, Tasmanian, West Australian, and Darwin Symphony Orchestras.
