Penclawdd delight at MBE Award

The Penclawdd Band has been celebrating an MBE for their DVLA tuba player.

The Penclawdd Band from West Wales has joined in the congratulations for their Chairman and Eb tuba player Richard Phillips, who has been awarded the MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list, for services to the Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency.

Loyal member

MD, Tony Small told 4BR: "Richard, has been a loyal member of the band since the age of 13, and has also played for West Glamorgan Youth and the National Youth Brass Band of Wales. Since his late teens he has also been a member of the Territorial Army bands and has also seen active tours of duty to Iraq and Afghanistan."
