The sound of brass was everywhere in Derbyshire on day 42 of the Olympic Flame’s progress towards London, with Blidworth Welfare Band playing their part in a hectic but rewarding day of performances.

Vast crowds

The band appeared at two venues throughout the route performing at Bolsover and Calow near Chesterfield to vast crowds who had gathered to see the Torch and the cavalcade of vehicles accompanying it.

Procession

The band appeared on East Midlands Today on the BBC Live Feed and went on to head a procession of over 2,000 adults and school children from the historic Bolsover Castle through the town of Bolsover.
