New signings at Rainford

Fresh from their recent Fleetwood success, Rainford dip into the transfer market to strengthen the ranks.

Rainford in action at Fleetwood

Fresh from their success at the Fleetwood Contest, the Rainford Band has been dipping into the transfer market once again with the news that they welcome second trombone player Ryan Higgin to the band.

Promotion

Ryan previously played with Wrexham Brass and Wellington Bands, and his arrival has led to the promotion of 16 year old Jack Rowlands to the solo trombone chair.

Also joining on the cornet bench is Ben Coulson from Blackburn & Darwen, although solo cornet player Karl Stott has had to call time with his tenure with the band due to increased work commitments.

I'd like to welcome both Ben and Ryan. Both are excellent players with plenty of top section experience, so are well aware of the challenges aheadMD, Neil Samuel

Welcome

MD Neil Samuel told 4BR: "I'd like to welcome both Ben and Ryan. Both are excellent players with plenty of top section experience, so are well aware of the challenges ahead. I'd also like to wish Karl all the best and thank him for his services to us."
