BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Award winners

Thomas Fountain, Josiah Walters and Youth Brass 2000 claim prestigious BBC Radio 2 Awards.

The winners of the 2013 BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Awards were announced at the Brass in Concert Championship in Gateshead last weekend.

Introduced by Frank Renton and Simone Rebello, the three winners will perform for the overall award at the Royal Northern College of Music Festival of Brass in Manchester on Sunday 27th January next year.

The award winners were:

Soloist under 18: Thomas Fountain
Soloist under 21: Josiah Walters
Youth Brass Band: Youth Brass 2000
