Following their success at the recent Leicester contest, Blidworth Welfare Band has announced the appointment of Phil White as their new principal cornet as the band start preparations for the Butlins Mineworkers Contest at Skegness.

Delighted

MD Martin Heartfield commented to 4BR: "I’m delighted that Phil has accepted the position at Blidworth as he brings such quality to the hot seat as we prepare for the future."

Impressed

Phil rejoined the band in the summer after a short break and has since impressed with his solo performances and leadership qualities. His personal contribution at the Leicester Contest gained praise from adjudicator John Roberts from the stage after the band’s performance of ‘Prisms’.
