Buzz settles in to NZ life

Former Tredegar principal euphonium settles back to homeland musical life with a little help from friends and Besson.

Byron Newton

Former Tredegar Principal Euphonium Byron Newton has settled back into musical life in his homeland in New Zealand.

Appointment

‘Buzz’ has been appointed Solo Euphonium and Assistant Musical Director of the Pelorus Trust Wellington Band as well as joining the Royal New Zealand Air Force Band. In addition he has also joined the select group of worldwide Besson Performance Artists.

Besson

He told 4BR: "I will now be performing as a Besson artist particularly on the Besson Prestige 2052 euphonium.

I have many people to thank for this including the active support I have gained from David Childs. The connection enables me to explore musical opportunities as well as performing and giving master classes in New Zealand and Australia."
