Advert: Birchfield Music

Great new music on offer — and still in time for Christmas!

Birchfield Music

Following a number of enquires Birchfield Music have added a number of fantastic new brass quartet arrangements to the catalogue.

Quartets

Scored for two cornets, tenor horn and euphonium, these arrangements are of some popular classical numbers and are ideal for different occasions which require a small ensemble such as weddings.

The titles include a selection of easy music and more advanced pieces which should be accessible to players of all standards.

New titles

There are currently seven new titles that include:

Arrival of The Queen of Sheba
The Entertainer
Rondeau from Purcell's 'Abdelazer'
The Heavens Are Telling from Haydn's 'Creation'
Two Hornpipes from Handel's 'Water Music'
Finale from 'William Tell' Overture
Two Baroque Shorts — Featuring Mouret's 'Rondeau' and Charpentier's 'Prelude to a Te Deum'

The music is priced at only £8.95 and £10.95 and includes a full score and individual parts.

Music on the Spot

Birchfield Music's Iain Rayner has responded to a number of requests and has been able to make these pieces available in a short time.

Such is his skill that he recently put together a duet for a customer during a quiet time at the Birchfield trade stands at the contest.

Delight

Iain said, "I was asked if I could consider writing a baritone and cornet duet for two young girls who were playing at the Foden's contest and I intended to look at something when I got home.

However, with a lull in the day's proceedings, I was able to arrange a duet from the slow section of my original work 'Barbican' much to the delight of the lady who requested it!"

It is Iain's intention to write more original quartet music and he is already underway with this task to publish very soon.

Site Enhancements

Meanwhile, Birchfield Music have added some important features to their website.

These include an updated store and an enhanced 'Listen' page where you can hear recordings of Iain's music, watch videos of live performances and listen to Sibelius samples of all the music on the catalogue.

This gives an invaluable idea of what all the music sounds like — particularly useful for those who may be looking to try something original.
