4BR has been informed of the death of Ted Massey, a notable figure in the brass band movement in the Midlands region and beyond, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday 30th January aged 85.

Progress

Ted Massey was perhaps best known as the Musical Director of the Ancient Order of Foresters Band.

Under his inspirational direction, hard work, determination and dedication, the band progressed from the Third to the Championship Section achieving notable successes and achievements along the way.

Funeral

His funeral will take place at Gillrose cemetery, Groby Road Leicester, on Monday 11th February at 1.00pm.
