Vintage dates set for National Youth Courses

The National Youth and National Children's Bands are set to enjoy vintage courses this year.

The dates and venues have been announced for the 2013 National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain and National Children’s Brass Band of Great Britain residential courses.

Ester and Summer

The Easter course of the NYBBGB will be held at Taunton School from 30th March to 6th April with the Summer course held at Giggleswick School from 3rd to 10th August.

Meanwhile, the NCBBGB annual course will be held at Repton School from 22nd to 27th July.

Vintage year

Administrator Philip Biggs, told 4BR: "2013 promises to be another vintage year for the two bands. Building on last year’s 60th anniversary celebrations, it is now the turn of the Children’s Band to celebrate its 10th anniversary later this year."

The two National band’s performed at numerous venues in 2012, including London’s Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Snape Maltings, The Bridgewater Hall, The Sage in Gateshead and on BBC Radio 3.
