BBANZ announce Helen Hoy as new Executive Officer

The experienced Helen Hoy has become the new Executive Officer of the Brass Band Association of New Zealand.

It has been announced by the Brass Band Association of New Zealand that Helen Hoy will become its new Executive Officer following the retirement of the current General Manager, David Dobson.

She will move to Wellington in early April to take up her appointment.

Experience

Helen Hoy is a currently a member of the National Management Committee of BBANZ but will relinquish her role on this committee following her appointment.

In 2012 she was re-elected to the National Management Committee, having first served for three years from 2002, during which time she was the Assistant Manager of the 2002/03 National Youth bands.

She was appointed to be the National Contest Manager, a role she held until 2008.

Adjudicator appointment

Meanwhile, BBANZ has announced that Kevin Dell, a member of several National Bands, former BBANZ President, co-manager of the National Band of New Zealand has accepted the appointment as Assistant Chief Adjudicator for the 2013 BBANZ National Contest.

Among his duties, Kevin will adjudicate the C and D Grade band events.

Wantage Silver Band
