Silver service for Carlton Main in Scotland

Yorkshire champion shows off their haul of silverware on their recent concert trip north of the border in Dunfermline.

Yorkshire silverware with Ray Sykes

Carlton Main Frickley Colliery gave their first concert as newly crowned Yorkshire Champions in Dunfermline’s Carnegie Hall on the weekend, conducted by Stan Lippeatt.

Something for everyone

The band delivered a diverse programme of music boasting 'something for everyone', including showcase performances from their talented team of soloists.

They also made sure local brass band supporters were able to get a glimpse of some of the silverware Carlton Main has already grabbed this year.

Pride of place

The Yorkshire Regional Trophy took pride of place next to the award won as the highest placed colliery band at the Butlins Mineworkers Championship – and named after Stan’s father William Lippeatt.

Thanks

A spokesperson told 4BR: "The band would like to thank Stan for his efforts and encouragement over the past few weeks.

This has been a great year for Carlton Main and we are eager to build on our successes. This year is shaping up to become one of the best in the bands 128 year history."
