BBE looks forward to English National

Brass Bands England is looking forward to what they hope will be a great weekend of music making in Birmingham at the English Nationals in June.

English National TROPHIES

Brass Bands England has announced that there has been a great deal on interest generated in the forthcoming English National Championships since news was released of its new venue at the Elgar Concert Hall, in the Bramall Music Building at the University of Birmingham on Saturday 29th June.

Fantastic venue

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Brass Bands England is delighted to bring the first brass band contest to this fantastic venue."

The full day of contest action, featuring some of the top English bands will commence at 10.30am with the set test piece, George Lloyd’s ‘Variations on a Bass Theme’ — an appropriate choice by the ENBBC Music Panel as it coincides with the weekend of George Lloyd’s centenary.

£4000 top prize

The afternoon will be dedicated to the competitor’s own choice selections, as they seek to impress the adjudicators and win not only the £4000 first prize, but also gain the honour of representing England at the 2014 Championships in Perth.
