University posting for Langley

Rising Welsh conducting star set to lead Cardiff University Brass Band.

Blaenavon Town Band tuba player David Langley has been appointed joint Musical Director of Cardiff University Brass Band.

Currently studying for a Bachelor of Music Degree at Cardiff University School of Music, where he has also conducted the University Symphonic Brass Ensemble, David is a product of Blaenavon’s Youth Development Strategy.

Youth development

He started learning with the band’s Junior Section before moving into the Senior Band and developing his playing with the Greater Gwent Youth Band. David has also helped out as a tutor at some of the band’s recent Summer Schools.

We are all delighted that David that he has been appointed to this post and are very proud to have seen him develop with us over the yearsBlaenavon Town Band.
