The Scottish Brass Band Association has announced that its 2013 Youth Brass Band Championships, which will take place in Perth later this year will now become a UK wide event.

Further develop

The two day event takes place on the 17th & 24th November at Perth Concert Hall, with six sections of competition.

Due to its significant success in recent years SBBA feels that the event will further develop by welcoming bands from outside Scotland to compete in the Open Senior and Open Premier Sections.

Senior and Premier

A SBBA spokesperson told 4BR: "This new initiative in the Senior and Premier Sections will continue to develop the highly regarded reputation of the event’s performance mix, whilst widening the challenges of the competitions."

The Senior Youth Section, for bands with members aged 18 and under, takes place on Sunday 17th November, whilst the Premier Youth Section, for bands with members aged 21 and under, takes place on Sunday 24th November.

This new initiative in the Senior and Premier Sections will continue to develop the highly regarded reputation of the event’s performance mix, whilst widening the challenges of the competitionsSBBA
