Brassed Off sent to Coventry

Coventry Festival Band will reprise the role of Grimley Colliery Band as Brassed Off returns to the stage in 2014.

Coventry Festival Band has been invited to take on the role of Grimley Colliery Band in the latest stage production of ‘Brassed Off’ with the Touring Theatre Company.

The band will take up the role when the production reaches the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry, in April 2014 — 30 years after the Miner's Strike ended.

Band MD, Josh Hughes told 4BR: "Rehearsals for the event will be scheduled well in advance, with choreography sessions including a 'marching' scene planned for early next year."
