Where Eagley dare...

It's been a great 163rd year for the Eagley Band — from Kia showrooms and Meccano bridges to Johan de Meij and a brand new march.

The Eagley Band has been enjoying one of the busiest and most entertaining seasons in its proud 163 year history.

Excellent appearances

Good results at the Brass at the Guild and North West Area contests have been built upon with a number of excellent concert appearances.

These have included a Kia Car showroom and Meccano bridge to the high profile Chatburn Proms and a performance with the acclaimed group The Handlebards, at the spectacular Gorton Monastery in a performance of ‘Romeo & Juliet’ on bikes!

Looking forward

A year into his appointment, MD Matthew Ryan told 4BR that the band has a great deal to look forward to in the next 12 months too.

"The band was already in rude health beforehand, but thanks to a series of great performances and hard work by both the committee and players we can now look forward to a 12 month period of exciting projects and serious development."

the band is also looking forward to performing the UK premiere of an extended work by renowned composer Johan De Meij and the world premiere of the concert march, ‘So Fly The Eagles’ written for them by composer Mike Lyons4BR

Player boost

The playing ranks have been boosted by the signing of two new cornet players, Jake Webster on second cornet and Stephen Wheeler on front row.

New music

Meanwhile, the band is also looking forward to performing the UK premiere of an extended work by renowned composer Johan De Meij and the world premiere of the concert march, ‘So Fly The Eagles’ written for them by composer Mike Lyons.
