Advert: Foden's set for Hanley extravaganza

The Foden's Band will be providing an extravaganza of musical entertainment in Hanley on 3rd November.

Fodens in action

On the 3rd November Foden's Band will be promoting a concert at the Victoria Hall, Hanley featuring Foden's Youth Band, the 280 strong ‘Can't Sing Choir’ and the Foden’s Band commencing at 7.00pm.

Successful

Band Manager Mark Wilkinson told 4BR: "Following on from our highly successful sell out self promotional concert at Manchester Cathedral last year, we will once again be promoting a concert in Hanley.

It is just over a year since we formed the Foden's Youth Band, something we are very proud of, and since then the 60 members have had monthly rehearsals guided by the Foden's players / conductors as well as appearing in a number of concerts at prestigious venues.

The Youth Band was formed to give talented youngsters extra tuition on top of what they currently receive, rather than to compete and take players away from their own youth bands. Due to this we have found other youth organisations to be very supportive of our own Youth Band."

All the groups have a large following in the area so once again we are looking forward to a musically rewarding and entertaining concert4BR

Best experience

He added: "We aim to give the students the best experiences as possible — hence the reason why they will be appearing alongside Foden's and the Can't Sing Choir.

All the groups have a large following in the area so once again we are looking forward to a musically rewarding and entertaining concert in front of a full house including a number of invited VIP's."
