Experienced returns at Imps

Yorkshire Imperial David Urquhart Travel gains a brace of experienced foundation builders.

Yorkshire Imperial

Yorkshire Imperial David Urquhart Travel Band has announced the signing of two highly regarded bass players.

Experience returns

Returning home on Eb Bass is Mark Tweedle, who originally spent 11 years of his playing career on first horn with the band in the late 1970s. After a dedicated spell at Drighlington on both euphonium and Eb bass, Mark now returns in time for their end of season challenge at the Scottish Open in Perth.

Joining Mark will be the experienced Mark Wilkinson, whose 30 year playing career includes a highly successful spell at Skelmanthorpe Band for the past seven years.

Fantastic

Mark is also looking forward to an exciting contesting future with Imps: "It’s fantastic to be with a band with so much potential and that is so determined to move forward.

I’m fully committed to playing an active role within the Imps team."

A bass duo of this calibre will be essential to the band’s continued progress and successMD, David Nesbitt

Essential

Musical Director David Nesbitt told 4BR: "A bass duo of this calibre will be essential to the band’s continued progress and success. As a fellow bass player, it would be impossible to ignore the quality of musical experience these players bring to the band."
