Salvation Santas helps local hospice

Some hardy fun running Salvationists have helped their local hospice by getting on their running shoes....

Last Sunday, a number of the members of the Chelmsford Salvation Army band were given permission to miss their normal Sunday morning service to take part in the annual Santa ‘Fun Run’ in aid of the local hospice.

The hardy souls ran, jogged and walked the 4 kilometre course each dressed as Santa and all playing carols and other festive music to encourage the other participants.

Thankfully, everyone also finished and in the process raised over £500 for the hospice.

Those taking part were Nathan Hampel & Jess McLarnon (cornet), Paul Holden (horn), Adrian Hampel (baritone), Jodie Schultz & Simon Hull (trombone), Elliot Smith (euphonium) and Garry Smith (bass).
