The new generation of possible Brighouse & Rastrick players took their first steps into the limelight recently when the Brighouse & Rastrick Youth Band played with their senior counterparts at a concert in their local Central Methodist Church.

Packed hall

Held over both a matinee and evening performance, the Youth Band wowed a packed hall with popular tunes such as ‘William Tell’, 'James Bond’, and even a special version of the theme tune from ‘Ghostbusters’, featuring the parents from the band.

Dedication

Conductor Dean Redfearn praised the children's dedication and hard work having just ten weeks to get the band up to concert standard.

He told 4BR: "It’s not often the famous lads and lasses in purple and gold get put in the musical shade, but I don’t think they minded on this occasion, as our long term commitment to developing young players in our local area took a huge leap forward."
