Festive broadcast for Lofthouse

Lofthouse Brass 200 can heard on the Radio Leeds airwaves this Christmas — not once but twice!

Lofthouse Band

Lofthouse 2000 Band recently played their part in the festive celebrations after being approached by BBC Radio Leeds and asked to feature in their annual Carol Service at the picturesque St Giles Church in Pontefract.

Broadcast

The broadcast featured the St Giles Church Choir, Featherstone Male Voice Choir and the band, as well as familiar radio presenters Andrew Edwards, Georgey Spanswick, Wes Butters, Johnny I’Anson and Tim Crowther.

Great

Principal cornet James Whitaker told 4BR: "It was a great to take part in. We have worked closely with BBC Leeds in 2013, featuring quite heavily in their ‘Week of Brass’ with members of the band taking part in radio interviews and also taking part in the ‘flash mob’ surprise in Leeds."

He added: "We are all looking forward to hearing the performance back on Christmas Eve and again on Christmas Day whilst tucking into our turkeys, and want to thank everyone at the BBC for getting us involved and the publicity they have also given us in the past months."

Tune in

Tune in to BBC Radio Leeds, 92.4FM on Christmas Eve at 6.00pm, then again at 12.00 noon on Christmas Day to hear the carol service in full!
