Onwards and upwards for City of Chester

From mixed emotions to bright future for City of Chester.

City of Chester

With the last carolling job of the year finished, the City of Chester Band has been able to look back on a 2013 that has seen mixed emotions.

Highs and lows

The band triumphed at the North West Area Fourth Section contest (above) to give long serving MD Philip Mottershead a wonderful send off, whilst they also enjoyed their appearance at the famous Whit Friday marches and outdoor concerts.

However, the band also lost the much respected band member Didier Chupeau.

Under the direction of Malcolm Peach the band is becoming acquainted with new musical horizons and it is an exciting time for everyone concerned with the organisationSpokesperson

Look forward

A spokesperson told 4BR: "It has been a year of highs and lows, but we now look forward to 2014 with promotion to the Third Section and a wonderful tour to Amboise to take part in the French Open in June.

Under the direction of Malcolm Peach the band is becoming acquainted with new musical horizons and it is an exciting time for everyone concerned with the organisation."
