Barnsley Brass has announced that William Rushworth (above left) will be leading the band in the First Section at the Yorkshire Regional Championship at St George’s Hall in Bradford in March.

Conducting

The news follows the horn star’s recent departure from Grimethorpe Colliery Band where he expressed his desire to add to his conducting portfolio.

Band Chairman Peter Webster told 4BR: "The band is thrilled to be re acquainted with William and are really looking forward to working with him again."

He added: "We have been without a full time MD since Grenville Moore left for pastures new and to be nearer to his home in the North West. We wish Grenville and wife Jane the very best of luck for the future and thank him for his time with us."
