A grand up for compositional grabs

If you can write a great piece to celebrate the Kippax Band's 200th anniversary then you could get a grand reward.

The Garforth Arts Festival is looking to commission a composer to write a new piece for the Kippax Band's 200th Anniversary.

Fee

The successful applicant will receive a fee of £1,000 and the piece will be performed on Saturday 5th July at St Mary's church in Garforth, Leeds as part of the 10th annual Garforth Arts Festival.

Outline

Festival Director Dave Evans told 4BR: "We would like to hear from as many composers as possible, and we would ask that they submit a 200 word précis outlining their ideas and how they would approach this work."

The deadline for submissions is Thursday 13th February
