Weekly quiz answer:

Thanks to everyone who knew that the number that linked Swanbrook Transport Band’s Pontins Championship victory of 1977 with Edson Arantes do Nascimento playing for Santos against Vasco da Gama at the Maracana Stadium in November 1969, and the total mileage a pair of bespectacled Scottish brothers would walk in a pop song to fall down by a door....

The answer was of course 1000.

Swanbrook won the first ever £1,000 first prize in contesting history, Pele scored his 1000th goal against Vasco de Gama and the Proclaimers walked a total of 1000 to fall down exhausted outside a door...

The winner:

Congratulations to Dave Shaw of Bristol who was one of many to get the answer right!

He will be getting three CDs and a 4BR diary, as well as couple of bottles of Blue Juice valve oil as soon as he gets in touch — we have been phoning!
